K-space clocking is a common approach for sampling interferometric data in constant frequency intervals. This study investigates the influence of chromatic dispersion in optical fibre based clock generation and its effect when used to sample frequency scanning interferometry measurements. Chromatic dispersion is found to re-introduce a non-linearity to the sample frequency, causing FSI signal frequencies to broaden and reduce in amplitude. Through simulation of FSI signals, the performance of three dispersion compensating fibres are analysed. DCF38 in combination with SMF28 was found to provide the best compensation for chromatic dispersion across the FSI frequency band.
