Abstract

Spatial and polarisation diversity MIMO and massive MIMO are Key features of 5G to maximise the available throughput to a single or multiple users. As 5G develops, particularly mm-wave, over-the-air (OTA) testing will become essential because direct connection will no longer be feasible. Rigorous MIMO OTA characterisation is a serious challenge for the specification bodies and for the test-equipment manufacturers. In this paper, a rigorous link performance test for MIMO OTA characterisations with traceable signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) is presented.
