This paper presents an assessment of data routing and link performance of a rhombus-shaped wireless sensor network (WSN) using four IEEE 802.15.4 compliant MICAz sensor motes in a reverberation chamber (RC) loaded with different number of absorbers at the corners. The influences of loading absorbers on the RC quality factor (Q-factor) are compared. The results show that for single-route WSN communications could achieved better link performance with lower RC Q-factor whereas for multi-route WSN communications the link performance degrade by the complex inter-path interferences regardless RC Q-factor values, which suggests future studies are necessary.
