This protocol is intended for the calibration and the evaluation of on-site measuring equipment for the determination of pH in water. It gives guidance to the end-user on how to estimate the measurement uncertainty of the pH value following standard procedures. This protocol can be used for on-line and on-site measuring devices over a pH range from pH = 3 to pH = 10 for measurements in water at ionic strength I below 0.3 mol/kg and in a temperature range of 0°C to 50 °C. (Electrolytic conductivity of the solution at 25 °C below 2000 mS/m).
