Abstract

The Ionising Radiations Metrology Forum organised a comparison of calibrations of neutron area survey instruments in which five establishments in the UK participated. The exercise involved the circulation of two neutron area survey monitors for calibration in fields produced using 252Cf and 241Am-Be sources. The instruments used were a model Mark 7 NRM and a model NM2B.
All results were submitted to the author for analysis. Responses relative to neutron fluence, as stated by the individual participants, were calculated. The results are compared and generally demonstrate reasonable agreement between establishments.
