Abstract

This document provides guidance on how the software development tool Git can be used to improve the software quality and make your code more Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-usable (FAIR). It covers good practices around using Git and provides links to NPL and external resources for integration of Git with common software tools and using Git features for software documentation.

This guide does not provide a comprehensive technical description of Git. Detailed instructions on how to install and use Git at NPL can be found here.
