Abstract

This Good Practice Guide was designed for anyone who requires to strategically plan for coordinate metrology. Written in collaboration with the Coordinate Metrology Society, the information provided in this Guide highlights the fundamental knowledge required when planning a measurement strategy in coordinate metrology, in the light of the following duty areas:
1. Design document requirements
2. Measurement device knowledge
3. Pre-measurement planning
4. Performing measurement operations
5. Analysing data
In summary, it will provide underpinning metrological knowledge, focusing on coordinate metrology in particular, in order to promote good practice when using portable coordinate measuring systems.
