Abstract

An approach is considered for modelling systematic errors of measurement. It applies when the following are available: (a) a physical model of the measurement, depending on an `independent variable' t, (b) data representing the measurand contaminated by random and systematic errors across the working interval for t, and (c) a postulated systematic-error function of t. An application of the approach is given to the measurement of the complex permittivity of dielectric reference liquids as a function of frequency.
