Abstract
This report describes a method for making traceable measurements of the density of water by hydrostatic weighing using calibrated spherical reference standards of nominal mass 1 kg manufactured from Zerodur and silica. The results obtained were in good agreement with values calculated from recently published formula. A traceable density measurement of a stainless steel 1 kg artefact by hydrostatic weighing using the method above to determine the density of the water is also described.
