Abstract

A new beam current monitor has been designed and built for the NPL linear accelerator. The output response of the new beam current monitor is relatively free from RF interference: it has a fast rise time of -10 ns, and is stable enough to be calibrated for absolute charge measurements. The uncertainty on these charge calibrations is estimated to be ±0.3% (1s).
