Abstract

This chapter presents an overview of main characterization techniques for emitter (transmitter) and detector (receiver) devices used in THz wireless links, focusing on free-space devices. The main sections cover basic metrology concepts; emitter frequency spectrum; emitter power; emitter beam profile; detector responsivity; and detector spatial acceptance.
