Abstract

This report describes the operating instructions for the NPL portable standard flame system based on the Hencken flat flame burner using dry laboratory air and industrial grade (95% nominal purity) propane. It also includes a summary of the temperature field above the burner for equivalence ratios from phi = 0.8 to phi = 1.4, at an airflow rate of 23 SLPM.
