Abstract
This report presents the results of V-value measurements made on eight glazed window systems as part of the DOE "Partners in Technology Programme". The frames measured were i) thermally broken Aluminium frame; ii) Hard wood frame; iii) UPVC frame; iv) high performance thermally broken double window. The frames were measured with different air filled double glazed units with different air gaps, number of low-E coated surfaces, spacer bar systems and with a secondary glazed unit. The measurements were carried out in the NFL Wall Guarded Hot Box using the procedures specified in draft CEN standard prEN 12412-1 and a conventional, "direct" procedure. The results of hot box measurements of two glazed calibration panels, reported in NPL report QMl15, were used to evaluate the window V-values.
