Abstract

This report describes the protocol for analysis in the VAMAS project A3(d) static SIMS interlaboratory study - Part I: Linearity of the intensity scale. Procedures for setting the primary ion beam, mass analyser, ion detector and charge compensation are provided to assist users in obtaining repeatable results. A reference material of bulk PTFE is supplied for this study. No sample preparation is required by the user and specific guidance is given on sample handling. A spreadsheet is provided for the reporting and analysis of the data.
