Abstract

This Guide provides best practice guidance for fatigue loading of composite materials and on the use of traditional static defect tolerance test methods under long-term fatigue loading. Guidance is also given on the use of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) techniques for defect growth detection, and in particular those techniques that can be used for real-time measurements. The Guide is primarily concerned with carbon and glass fibre-reinforced polymer composite material systems.
