Abstract

This report describes the status of the mathematics and software used in the Legal Metrology area. This is a report produced for the NMS Software Support for Metrology (SSfM) programme, 2001-2004, as the result of one of five studies conducted under the New Directions project. This study aimed to identify requirements, techniques and problems that should be addressed in the formulation of the SSfM 2004-2007 programme, in order to support the NMS Legal Metrology programme in its use of mathematics, statistics and software.
