Abstract
Optical diffraction has been used for the first time to measure aperture area. The results are compared to measurements made using several other techniques, including a new radiometric technique developed during the course of this project. Diffraction code based on a Feynman path integral formulation and valid in the Fresnel regime has been written. This is a first step in the anticipated future development of more accurate diffraction code for radiometry.
