The Digital Coincidence COunting (DCC) system developed by NPL and ANSTO is breifly described along with its benefits in the data collection and processing for 4pß- coincidence counting technique of radionuclide standardization. Onr of these benefits is the automatic detection of and correction for out-of-channel coincidences in the Computer Discrimination method. Where the criteria for the use of the Cox-Isham/Smith correction formuae for deadtimes and resolving times are not met, a generalized approximation based on the work of Campion is suggested.
