Abstract

Covering the methodology for viewing fractured fragments of brittle components such as high-strength ceramics and hardmetals, tracing the path of fracture and identifying the fracture origins. Many examples are given of different types of origin and their appearance when viewed using optical and scanning electron microscopes.
