Abstract

This letter presents compact waveguide variable bends that incorporate integrated bandpass filters. Two designs have been demonstrated, at X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz), using 3-D stereolithography (SLA) printing and copper plating. The first is based on coupled ellipticalal resonators, while the second is based on coupled deformed ellipsoidal resonators. These designs offer both filtering functionality and complicated waveguide routing simultaneously, resulting in a significant reduction in size. A good agreement was found between the simulated and measured results of the prototype devices, validating the concept.
