Abstract

This report describes an extensive set of measurements of the response functions of PADC track-etch and NTA film personal dosemeters from UK Approved Dosimetry Services. A novel technique for producing simultaneous irradiations over a range of neutron energies is employed to provide detailed results for response characteristics over the energy range from about 100 ke V to 1.2 MeV. Two further measurements have been performed at 2.5 and 5.0 MeV to extend the data to higher energies. The report presents the results for both the fluence and personal dose equivalent response functions, and discusses these results and their implications. Note: all uncertainties quoted in this report are estimates of standard (10) uncertainties representing a confidence level of approximately 67%.
