Abstract

An overview of the metrological aspects of accurate and traceable measurements of the complex permittivity of biological tissue in the frequency range 100 kHz to 50 GHz is presented. The topics that are discussed include sample conditioning, coaxial sensor methods (for 30 MHz to 50 GHz), and admittance cell methods (for below 30 MHz).
