Abstract
Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry (ESPI), a full-field, non-contact strain mapping technique, was applied to the qualitative characterisation of mode I strain energy release rate in a [O14]s glass-epoxy laminate using the wedge. It was shown that the classical models found in the literature are not able to describe the test results accurately, contrarily to finite elements methods.
