Abstract

When compared to SnPb solder, the new breed of lead-free solders are perceived to offer poorer solderability, be more expensive and have melting points substantially higher. But these perceptions need to be backed by fact. Researchers at BOS Gases and the NPL combined forces to provide meaningful data on the effect that nitrogen has on soldering performance.
