Abstract

Demonstrates the use of a V-notched specimen configuration in fatigue data with a minimum of scatter and to which LEFM can be readily applied to reconcile fatigue behaviour with pre-existing flaws and apparent subcritical flaw growth during fatigue where appropriate.
