Abstract

EUROMET grew from an informal collaboration of National Measurement Institutes (NMI) which started in 1975 and which is now based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1987. Comparisons are performed to establish equivalence of measuring standards between all NMIs.
The EUROMET project 473 “Comparison of the measurement of current transformers” was started during April 1999, with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) as pilot laboratory and ten other participating European NMIs. Project 473 was completed in June 2001, and a supplementary comparison was started in December 2000 with a further four NMIs. Detailed in this report is the protocol for the comparison, the influencing factors associated with assigning the comparison reference values and a brief description of the methods used by the participants.
