Abstract

The following report summaries the results of a literature search and a series of industrial surveys that have been conducted to determin the current status of test methods for the measurement of coating adhesion. The review consists of: a list of test methods that have been identified from current scientific literature; a short description of the methodologies used in industry; a review of applicable standards; a summary of recent scientific reviews; and the results from two recent industrial surveys conducted by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) into current industrial practice.
