Abstract

This paper presents the results of a long-term measurement campaign of grid voltage distortion in the 9 kHz to 150 kHz frequency range, performed in the United Kingdom. The measurements have been performed with a specially build instrument, whose specifications are provided in the paper. Moreover, the measurement location is a newly built low-carbon site, which offers an insight into modern low-voltage distribution networks. The obtained results are compared to the applicable compatibility levels to provide an indication on the levels of distortion. The paper expands on the experience of long-term power quality surveys in a frequency range which is attracting increasing attention from research and standard-setting bodies, with more regulation expected to be enforced in the short-term future.
